Jamie graduated from the University of Glasgow and has continually developed his skills in order to become a highly skilled cosmetic dentist.

He has a particular interest in both implant dentistry and oral surgery and has gained membership to the Faculty of Dental Surgery, completing his post-graduate Diploma in Restorative Dentistry with the Royal College of Surgeons of England, after completing a further 2 years of studying from 2016-18.

In 2020, he was awarded the post-graduate Diploma in Implant Dentistry from The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Jamie is involved in training the next generation of implant dentists as a lecturer and surgical mentor for SmileFast Implants.

He enjoys building strong relationships with his patients in a friendly environment, and loves giving them the ability to smile with confidence again.

Personal information

Jamie and his wife Rebecca have 2 young children, Annie and Oliver, who keep them very busy and bring endless amounts of love and joy to their lives. Another special member of their family is their beautiful labradoodle, Tilly, who they love to take on long walks to the park (especially if it can be combined with a play park for the kids!) They all enjoy spending quality time together which mostly involves soft plays, eating out, watching Disney films, spending time with friends and family and generally making every day as fun as it can be.

As avid sun worshipers, they love going on family holidays exploring different countries of the world (as long as they have a warmer climate than here) but also enjoy long weekend breaks a bit closer to home in Scotland, London and the Lake District.

Personally, Jamie loves football and since hanging up his 11-a-side boots a few years ago, now plays 5-a-sides every week to keep fit. He also plays golf and is a member of Glasgow Golf Club. He also enjoys tennis, the gym and skiing. Away from sports he enjoys socialising with his friends, and together with Rebecca has a keen interest in musicals.

I had my first hygiene appointment at Dentristy on the Square today with Amy and Kim and it was amazing. J’adore! The entire team at DOTS have made me so comfortable since I joined as a patient in 2019. Previously, I was afraid of the dentist, avoided it for almost a decade. I have ADHD, Autism and very sensitive teeth so I’m can be anxious at the best of times but from my first appointment until now... my Dentist Andy has been incredible. I love how he and the dental therapists talk through each step. They let me listen to my music and I no longer dread the dentist, in fact I voluntarily moved onto cosmetic dentistry due to how comfortable I am at DOTS. I can not recommend Dentistry on the Square highly enough! I had been looking at braces treatments for months... I went in and spoke to Elaine who talked through all the available treatments, how each... one works and the different payment options too. Elaine was extremely helpful and I never felt pressured into committing to any treatment. In the end I chose the high speed braces treatment. Daryl and his team were amazing during this process! He makes you feel extremely comfortable and relaxed at each appointment, talks through each step with you and answers any questions or queries you have. Daryl and the rest of the staff are brilliant and wonderfully friendly. I finished my treatment today and I could not be happier with the results... I went into DOTS last year as I had a chip on my front tooth and wanted to get a crown at the back..I had to have 5 fillings before any cosmetic treatment started which I wasn't surprised at because I hadn't been to the dentist in about 11 years. Every procedure was pain free and over in no time.... The dvd goggles are the way forward also! Jamie sorted me out with composite bonding on my front 4 teeth and a crown at the back. I was terrified of the dentist after a bad experience when I was younger. I needed extensive work done and was very embarrassed about the state my teeth were in. I visited Dentistry on the Square and was made to feel at ease almost immediately( they definitely don’t judge) The treatment I received... was completely pain free and have never experienced anything like it. I was having dental treatment whilst watching a movie completely surreal as I didn’t actually believe that I would ever sit in a dentist’s chair again let alone enjoy it. Jamie Kerr was amazing but what really blew me away was Jamie Kinnell and his attention to detail, he spent a lot of time getting my teeth just right, on finishing my teeth and placing them he showed them to me and I was absolutely delighted. Jamie then went on to point out everything he thought was wrong with them. He said that he wasn’t 100 per cent happy with them and that if he fitted them they would annoy him in six months time so he’d rather get them totally right he’s a pure perfectionist and an absolute gentleman. Every single person at Denistry on the Square was a pleasure to deal with and all were genuinely lovely people. Can’t thank them enough for giving me my confidence back with my smile and ridding me of my fear of the dentist. Some of my appointments were long due... to the treatment I was getting however they were pain free and went in quickly. For every appointment I was able to pick two items from a comfort menu such as a back massager and eye mask. This helped so much and helped me relax.
Every member of staff I spoke to during my appointments were lovely and welcoming.

I came in for a health check, cleaning and smile consultation and the process was superb.

I usually hate having a cleaning and wind up in pain afterwards and loathe the... process due to discomfort caused. Couldn’t recommend Dentistry on the Square highly enough! All the staff have been so lovely and welcoming from the moment I first walked through the door. I have just finished my whitening treatment and had some old composite replaced which had been done after falling and breaking my two front... teeth a few years back. I could not be happier with the treatment I received from my dentist Jamie. He really took the time to listen to what I wanted, which was just a very natural brighter smile. He explained everything so well and always made sure I was comfortable throughout my treatment. Having received a filling as a teenager with inadequate numbing, I have always been fearful to get any sort of work done on my teeth since. However, my treatment with Jamie was completely pain free and I even got to watch a movie while he carried out replacing my composite which helped me to relax even more. I was always so self conscious of the previous work I had done to repair my teeth after breaking them but now my teeth have been transformed and I honestly cannot stop smiling! Dentistry on the square advocate “pain free dentistry”. This ethos is so accurate. My implants were fitted by Jamie Kerr and Kirsty. Throughout the procedure I was kept up to date (I’m nosey ;).Both professional’s were sensitive to my needs snd spoke in jargon free dentistry language.
