Alison graduated from the University of Glasgow and soon after became a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Glasgow. She spent the first few years of her career working in as many areas of dentistry as possible, to ensure a well-rounded approach to her treatment planning. She has worked in the Dental Hospital setting in Restorative Dentistry, and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, along with a period of time in the Public Dental Service taking care of patients with additional needs and anxiety.
She is particularly interested in cosmetic and aesthetic restorative dentistry, favouring minimally invasive treatments wherever possible. She has continually developed her skills over the years undertaking many courses throughout the UK to ensure that she always gives her patients the most up to date treatment options.
She loves getting to know her patients and create a trusting relationship over the course of their treatment plans and making the visits as enjoyable and relaxed as possible, just the way she would like to be treated herself!

Outside of work, Alison loves nothing more than a trip to the sunshine with her lovely husband, John. Recommendations for new places to visit are always welcome! City breaks come a close second, and she is working her way gradually through a bucket list of destinations to jet off to.
When she is at home, she can be found on long walks or at one of the local coffee shops with her family, the perfect places for catch ups! She is trying to get better at running, but the 5km time remains woefully slow. After a good workout, she can be found relaxing with a good movie, or trying a new restaurant in search of the perfect dessert to satisfy her sweet tooth!“The Invasilgn treatment plan, provided by Dr. Alison Brownlie, has been an absolutely fantastic experience – from start the finish.
