Veneers – porcelain or composite

What are Veneers?

A dental veneer is a shell, or layer of tooth-coloured porcelain or composite. It is placed over the front surface of your tooth to fix worn teeth, uneven tooth alignment or spacing, discolouration and chips or cracks.

Teeth Whitening

In practice or at home

The technique involves taking impressions of your teeth and getting laboratory made, custom bleaching trays. Tooth whitening gel is then applied to the trays which are fitted to the teeth. The trays hold the gel on the teeth and with time the teeth lighten. The more often you apply the gel the lighter the teeth will go.

We offer whitening treatments that you can do yourself at home, or if you prefer we can do it in the practice. 

Composite Bonding

What is it and why is it so popular?

Composite bonding is one of the easiest ways to solve different dental problems including chipped or cracked teeth, decaying teeth, discoloured teeth, spaces between teeth, or restoring lost teeth structure.

Composite bonding involves applying a tooth coloured composite resin material to your existing teeth. The resin is moulded by your dentist so that it creates a perfect match with your surrounding teeth. It is used across the world for whitening or masking discoloured teeth, improving cosmetic structure, filling dental gaps and repairing broken or fractured teeth. All in all, composite bonding is a perfect solution for solving minor dental imperfections.

Digital Smile Design (DSD)

Digital Smile Design (DSD) is a modern approach to cosmetic dentistry that uses advanced technology to design a customized, aesthetically pleasing smile for patients. It is a process that involves taking digital images and videos of the patient’s face, mouth, and teeth, and using specialized software to create a 3D model of the patient’s smile.

DSD allows dentists to analyze the patient’s facial and dental characteristics and create a virtual simulation of the final outcome, allowing the patient to see how their new smile will look before any treatment begins. This helps to ensure that the patient is satisfied with the end result and that the treatment plan is tailored to their specific needs and preferences.

The DSD process may include a variety of cosmetic dental treatments, such as teeth whitening, dental bonding, porcelain veneers, dental implants, and orthodontic treatment, among others. I went into DOTS last year as I had a chip on my front tooth and wanted to get a crown at the back..I had to have 5 fillings before any cosmetic treatment started which I wasn't surprised at because I hadn't been to the dentist in about 11 years. I was terrified of the dentist after a bad experience when I was younger. I needed extensive work done and was very embarrassed about the state my teeth were in. I visited Dentistry on the Square and was made to feel at ease almost immediately( they definitely don’t judge) The treatment I received... was completely pain free and have never experienced anything like it. I was having dental treatment whilst watching a movie completely surreal as I didn’t actually believe that I would ever sit in a dentist’s chair again let alone enjoy it. Jamie Kerr was amazing but what really blew me away was Jamie Kinnell and his attention to detail, he spent a lot of time getting my teeth just right, on finishing my teeth and placing them he showed them to me and I was absolutely delighted. Jamie then went on to point out everything he thought was wrong with them. He said that he wasn’t 100 per cent happy with them and that if he fitted them they would annoy him in six months time so he’d rather get them totally right he’s a pure perfectionist and an absolute gentleman. Some of my appointments were long due... to the treatment I was getting however they were pain free and went in quickly. For every appointment I was able to pick two items from a comfort menu such as a back massager and eye mask. This helped so much and helped me relax.

I had been looking for a dentist and after a recommendation from a friend, I went to Dentistry on the square.

I came in for a health check, cleaning and smile consultation and the process was superb.

I usually hate having a cleaning and wind up in pain afterwards and loathe the... process due to discomfort caused. This time round I didnt feel anything during or afterwards and the result was great. I saw Andy McIntyre and will say that I won't go anywhere else from now on. In fact I will look forward to it as they really do live up to their promise of pain free dentist. I have also recommended a friends.

After doing some research of my own, I found dentistry on the square. It has been a great experience from start to finish, the flexible times you can fit appointment's on like evenings, the friendly reception staff, dental nurse and dentists has made this experience all the better. I was seen by... Amy and Jamie K who were both really great at explaining everything and making me feel at ease, the comfort menu is also great ( I recommend the DVD goggles) After being told my veneers could not be replaced by my own dentist it was great seeking expert advice and getting my smile back. Couldn’t recommend Dentistry on the Square highly enough! All the staff have been so lovely and welcoming from the moment I first walked through the door. I have just finished my whitening treatment and had some old composite replaced which had been done after falling and breaking my two front... teeth a few years back. I could not be happier with the treatment I received from my dentist Jamie. He really took the time to listen to what I wanted, which was just a very natural brighter smile. He explained everything so well and always made sure I was comfortable throughout my treatment. Having received a filling as a teenager with inadequate numbing, I have always been fearful to get any sort of work done on my teeth since. However, my treatment with Jamie was completely pain free and I even got to watch a movie while he carried out replacing my composite which helped me to relax even more. I was always so self conscious of the previous work I had done to repair my teeth after breaking them but now my teeth have been transformed and I honestly cannot stop smiling!
