Dentistry on the Square is a private dentist near Shawlands, at 12 Niddrie Square, G42 8QE, about a mile away. Shawlands patients come to us for check-ups, hygiene and emergency appointments, and for cosmetic treatment such as composite bonding, with appointments until 9pm on Mondays and Tuesdays, and on Saturday mornings.

Shawlands is one of the Southside’s liveliest neighbourhoods, home to a mix of professionals, students and young families. Our practice on Niddrie Square, where Queen’s Park meets Strathbungo, is about a mile away, so it’s easy to fit an appointment around work, study or the school run.
We’re open until 9pm on Mondays and Tuesdays and from 9am to 1pm on Saturdays, so you don’t need to take time off for a check-up, a hygiene visit or a consultation.
We’re a private practice. Our Pain Free practice plan spreads the cost of routine care, and finance options including 0% APR are available for larger treatments, subject to age, status and a minimum spend.
Composite bonding for Shawlands patients
Composite bonding is one of the quickest ways to change your smile. Tooth-coloured composite is shaped and polished onto your natural teeth to repair chips, close small gaps, smooth uneven edges or rebuild worn teeth. In many cases it’s finished in a single visit, and it often needs no drilling or injections.

I was very apprehensive about having dental implants done but research into where best to go for the treatment clearly pointed to Jamie Kerr at Dentistry on the Square in Glasgow.I am so glad I followed the recommendations as I have been absolutely delighted with the treatment i have received... there.I am in absolute awe of Jamie Kerr ....he takes Dentistry to a whole different level. His skill is beyond exceptional and the attention he gives to achieving the perfect outcome is not only incredible but also very reassuring.My treatment involved two implants which required bone grafts and a sinus lift.I have been absolutely amazed how Jamie has been able to perform such complicated dental treatment without causing any pain whatsoever .....both during the different stages of the treatment and throughout the periods of post operative healing .I have to say that I am delighted and relieved that this dental journey has been alot less traumatic than I imagined and thats thanks to exceptional dental skill and amazing back from the front of house team.I also have to mention the exceptional treatment I received from the dental hygienist ......that treatment was also totally pain free and the result was amazing.I cannot recommend Jamie Kerr and the team at Dentistry on the Square highly enough. I recently had my old veneers replaced by Jamie Kinnell at Dentistry on the Square, and I couldn't be happier with the results!My permanent teeth were yellow and ridged due to having taken tetracycline antibiotics as a child. I'd had veneers for many years, but these were thick-looking and dull... and had yellowed over time.Jamie replaced them with beautiful, individually crafted veneers that look incredibly natural. They're white (but not excessively) and bright and thin, and they suit my face and my smile perfectly.Throughout the entire process, Jamie explained everything clearly and in detail, taking the time to discuss what I wanted (and, importantly, what I didn't want). Jamie's attention to detail and his aesthetic judgement are exceptional.The whole experience was fantastic. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐I honestly can’t recommend Dentistry on the Square highly enough!I’d known for a good few years that I was going to need a major overhaul of my teeth. I had lots of old fillings, some over 25 years old, that needed replacing, a couple of root canals,... crowns, an implant and whitening. It was a lot of work, and I wanted to make sure I was putting myself in the best possible hands.I visited a few different dentists and had 3 or 4 consultations and quotes, but one thing that really stood out to me was a lovely girl called Amber at Dentistry on the Square. She was full of confidence, explained absolutely everything in great detail and made me feel completely at ease. She was brilliant from the very first meeting.Interestingly, Dentistry on the Square were actually the most expensive of all the quotes I’d received. We were talking a five-figure sum, so it wasn’t a decision I was going to make lightly. I took another couple of months to think it over, but you get what you pay for in life, and when it comes to your teeth, especially spending that kind of money, I wanted the very best. So I picked up the phone and called Abbey back.And I’m so glad I did. I haven’t regretted that decision for a single second.Every single person I’ve dealt with throughout the whole process has been absolutely fantastic. You can tell they’re all incredibly skilled at their own specialities, and the level of professionalism and attention to detail is second to none.Even the little touches make a massive difference. You can lie back and watch Netflix through special glasses with headphones on while they’re working away! They genuinely go out of their way to make the whole experience as comfortable and pain-free as possible, constantly checking you’re okay and making sure you’re at ease.For someone who needed such a huge amount of dental work, the whole experience has been incredible from start to finish.It’s rare these days to come across a business where the service, quality and people are all this good. Yes, they’re not the cheapest, but the quality of care and the confidence you have in the people looking after you are worth every penny.A massive thank you to the entire team. I was treated by Daryl McLay, who won Best Young Dentist at the UK Dentistry Awards in 2023, and after my experience I can completely understand why. His awards genuinely live up to the talent. Thank you... Daryl, for all your hard work, your listening ear, patience and giving me a smile I hope can make the world smile back!!!Alongside giving me my smile, you also managed to restore what was a fairly complicated back molar that was partially fractured, and it wasn’t the most straightforward tooth to restore. Daryl, you took genuine care and time with it, and in the end you got it feeling completely natural again. The bite was unbelievably precise, honestly, it felt perfect down to the millimetre as discussed.The care didn’t stop once I left the chair either. You can be assured of a warm welcome by the friendly and helpful reception staff on arrival, in a bright and comfortable environment. I have received various dental procedures to date which have been delivered by highly, skilled... staff who are equally committed and caring. Where treatment was necessary my options were always fully discussed and took into account my own particular needs and wishes. I am delighted with the treatment that has been carried out since I joined this practice and appreciate the ongoing preventative check ups, carried out at least twice a year. From someone who used to dread going to the dentist to enjoying it, I initially went to dentistry on the square to get composite bonding thinking it would be the best easy option to straighten my teeth they then explained that it wasn’t the best option giving me the option of Invisalign treatment... explained that it would be a long process but the best option which it was I did also need to have a lot of work done before starting my Invisalign treatment which would have been my worst nightmare but it couldn’t have been an easier pain free process due to the team at dentistry on the square being amazing at what they do also can’t thank my Invisalign specialist Daryl enough for helping me achieve a smile I am now genuinely happy with and his patience with me throughout the lengthy process in the end it was all worth it.read more

I honestly cannot recommend Daryl & Kim enough. Just to set the scene, I am the ultimate big baby when it comes to the dentist, I am genuinely terrified & start to worry about routine appointments weeks & weeks before the check up is scheduled.The fact that I even showed up for my consultation... about Invisalign highlights how much I hated my teeth. My top teeth were in a bit of a mess with significant gum disease, old loose and broken crowns, and old fillings etc. Im now finished a very detailed treatment plan almost a year later and just had to share my fantastic experience on here. I've had a phobia of the dentist my entire life, so completing a full Invisalign treatment is something I never thought I'd say. From start to finish, the whole process was so smooth, and somehow I actually found myself looking forward to my appointments. Daryl has been absolutely fantastic... throughout, making every visit feel relaxed and straightforward. The treatment involved having teeth removed and fillings replaced, which would have had me running a mile before, but it was completely pain-free throughout with time taken to numb before jags. Before I came to dentistry on the square I had my teeth done previously and Daryl helped me to get the teeth I originally always wanted by stripping them back and restarting again. I had goal of a time frame I wanted and he managed to make sure... they were done for me and fit me in to make sure the time frame was met. Got my filling tonight from Amy and her assistant (sorry can’t remember name) I was at total ease and felt no pain whatsoever, I was well looked after and would highly recommend � from the first day I attended here to get my braces I have been made so... welcome. Sophie has been excellent too with my appointments.

Pain free and stress free my treatment was done by Jamie and kelly they explained everything they were doing with my teeth they were both brilliant at putting me at ease in a very relaxed atmosphere i would definately recommend Dentistry on the Square.

I would 110% recommend coming here for treatment , I'm so pleased with the work i had done , i was low on confidence and would hardly smile but now thanx to Daryl , Amy and Mark and the rest of the team who were really friendly and helpful, i have my confidence and my smile back. I would definitely recommend coming here for treatment - I'm so pleased with my lovely straight teeth and that I have proper retainers fitted now to stop them moving again.

I had all my appointments... booked in advance so that my braces were off in time for my sister's wedding; nothing was too much trouble and they make you feel liked a valued patient which is pretty rare these days.
I was really worked up about getting my braces off but Amy was so busy chatting away to me that I didn't even notice she'd done it - no pain at all - I don't know what I was panicking about!
