Bonding, Composite Veneers Or Porcelain? Here’s Jamie To Answer That
Dental Veneers In Your Lunch Break!
With our latest Scanner Technology at Dentistry On The Square we can fit your new veneers in no time at all. Scanner machines have transformed the way we apply dental veneers. It has enabled us to create and set great new veneers in just one short session, you could even have them fitted during your lunch break!
With the Scanner system the process differs slightly from fitting standard dental veneers. Your teeth can be prepared before the veneers are made but in many cases your teeth do not require any alterations or preparation. There is no need to take a mould of your mouth; instead a scan is taken of the prepared teeth.
We then place uniquely crafted porcelain that has been coloured to match your teeth into our Scanner machine. The machine then shapes the block to the exact specifications of your scan. The result is a set of veneers that will fit your teeth perfectly.
Once the veneers are made, which only takes a few minutes, we can then apply the veneers to your teeth as normal. Furthermore, because only one session is needed there is no need for temporary veneers or dental crowns to be fitted while you wait for your veneers to be made up! In fact the whole process can be done in under an hour.

The Porcelain Veneers Process
During your initial consultation at our practice, you will discuss your aesthetic goals for correcting and improving your smile with one of our qualified cosmetic dentists.
Your dentist will give detailed design specifications regarding shape, colour, and translucency of your new veneers to the lab. The dentist will then arrange your follow-up appointments and tell you what to expect over the next few appointments.
During the second appointment, the dentist will prepare your teeth for your new porcelain veneers. Doing so requires buffing off about half a millimetre of tooth enamel to adjust for the added thickness of the veneers. This is a painless procedure.
Next, your dentist will take a mould of your mouth to send to the laboratory, where they will craft your porcelain veneers to match your teeth. Making a natural looking porcelain veneer is an art form, that’s why we use only the very best dental labs.
We will provide you with temporary veneers during this stage. This will allow you to get used to the new shape of your teeth while you wait.
After two or three weeks, your porcelain veneers will be ready. On your return to the practice, you will be able to examine the veneers to assess their colour and shape. They will then be permanently attached to your teeth.
After your porcelain veneers have been fitted, you should care for them just as you would natural teeth. Regular brushing and flossing will maintain them over time. It should take several weeks for you to adjust to the new feel of your teeth, but very soon, they will feel absolutely natural.
