Emma came to see us to look at changing the old bonding on her upper front 8 teeth. This had been present for a number of years but had been repaired many times due to frequent chipping caused by clenching and grinding the teeth.

These repairs didn’t last and the colours were not well matched to the old bonding or the surrounding teeth. Emma had lost confidence in the appearance of the old bonding and wanted to improve things to give her back a more confident, harmonious smile.

The Treatment

After putting a plan together to help, Emma first saw our wonderful therapist Sarah for hygiene work to get the gums nice and healthy as well as some cosmetic fillings on her back teeth. This was followed by 4-6 weeks of tooth whitening.

Having discussed what Emma wanted to see in her new smile in terms of shape and proportions of her teeth, we performed a trial smile to allow her to check the planned changes and ensure she was happy with everything before going ahead with the new bonding.

This involved placing temporary material over her current smile to show what things could look like when the transformation was completed.

Now that we were happy with the plan, we moved onto the bonding. We carefully removed all of the old, failing composite using our usual techniques to ensure the underlying tooth and enamel was well preserved. We then placed 8 bonding veneers to complete this smile transformation.

Importantly, we then protected this work with retainers and a night guard to prevent future damage to the composite through clenching and grinding. Things are now being really well maintained, and we are delighted with the results we have achieved.

I have to say Wow. I had root canal treatment over 35 years ago on my tooth and today I had an appointment with Niall as it was infected, for a further root canal treatment. I just want to say a massive thank you to Dentistry on the Square for my smile make over. I have never been a fan of the dentist and it has always made me very nervous. Sophie and Andy made me feel so comfortable and at ease from my very first appointment.
Some of my appointments were long due... to the treatment I was getting however they were pain free and went in quickly. For every appointment I was able to pick two items from a comfort menu such as a back massager and eye mask. This helped so much and helped me relax.

Cannot recommend the Team highly enough, I lost a front tooth, after some consultation on the best route it was decided to put an implant in. I was very worried that the implant would look out of place as it was at the front, however it is so good you cannot tell which one of my front teeth is the... implant. Also have been carrying infection in another tooth for many years, again Dareen, Jamie and Jamie have dealt with this brilliantly for me and I no longer have pain and a lovely new implant. I went in and spoke to Elaine who talked through all the available treatments, how each... one works and the different payment options too. Elaine was extremely helpful and I never felt pressured into committing to any treatment. In the end I chose the high speed braces treatment. Daryl and his team were amazing during this process! I came to dentistry on the square quite guarded. I’d had a number of really bad experiences with my local Falkirk dentist which sadly left me with 2 of my front teeth rotting/ gradually falling out in my early thirties.I didn’t want to wear a denture at my age. So I was looking for something more... permanent. But I’d been told by a number of dentists that implants were not an option for me as my bone density was nil (so there would be nothing for the implant to grab onto).Thankfully I found DOTS - who had a specialist in implants, skilled in something I’d never heard of before - bone grafting. Implants were back ok the table!So, since May 2024 I’ve been receiving treatment from DOTS to replace the 2 failing teeth with implants, and place veneers to another 2 teeth, to balance everything out for a natural smile.Not going to sugar coat it, the bone graft and implant surgery was intense. But the results and follow up care were brilliant. Jamie Kinnell has been especially kind, professional and patient with me. Wanting to get everything perfect and make me feel as comfortable and educated as possible each step of the way.Thank you for giving me my confidence back. And the function of my front teeth!
