Our lovely patient Liz came to see us because she had 15 year old veneers and was looking to get them replaced in time for her 60th birthday.

The Treatment

Jamie started by replacing old composites to refresh the foundation then planned every detail of the transformation with a smile design wax up, so Liz could see exactly what was possible before we began.

The full smile journey consisted of; replaced composite fillings, tooth whitening for an even, brighter base, smile design wax up to plan the final result, ultra thin Emax veneers and a single crown to complete the look.

This plan consisted of; gum contouring to enhance symmetry, professional tooth whitening for a brighter look, a mix of crowns and veneers and composite edge bonding on the lower teeth for balance and a natural finish.

Emma came to see us to look at changing the old bonding on her upper front 8 teeth. This had been present for a number of years but had been repaired many times due to frequent chipping caused by clenching and grinding the teeth.

These repairs didn’t last and the colours were not well matched to the old bonding or the surrounding teeth. Emma had lost confidence in the appearance of the old bonding and wanted to improve things to give her back a more confident, harmonious smile.

The Treatment

After putting a plan together to help, Emma first saw our wonderful therapist Sarah for hygiene work to get the gums nice and healthy as well as some cosmetic fillings on her back teeth. This was followed by 4-6 weeks of tooth whitening.

Having discussed what Emma wanted to see in her new smile in terms of shape and proportions of her teeth, we performed a trial smile to allow her to check the planned changes and ensure she was happy with everything before going ahead with the new bonding.

This involved placing temporary material over her current smile to show what things could look like when the transformation was completed.

Now that we were happy with the plan, we moved onto the bonding. We carefully removed all of the old, failing composite using our usual techniques to ensure the underlying tooth and enamel was well preserved. We then placed 8 bonding veneers to complete this smile transformation.

Importantly, we then protected this work with retainers and a night guard to prevent future damage to the composite through clenching and grinding. Things are now being really well maintained, and we are delighted with the results we have achieved.

Kasper first came to see us at DOTS wanting a straighter, brighter smile. He was aware of crowding in the lower front teeth and felt there were imperfections across his upper front teeth due to worn edges.

After our initial consultation we decided we would plan to straighten the teeth with invisalign followed by tooth whitening and some composite edge bonding on 6 upper front teeth.

The Treatment

Our first step in the plan was for Kasper to visit Amy to get his gum health up to scratch before moving on with cosmetic work.

We then aligned the teeth, relieving the crowding in the lower arch and creating space to allow us to place composite bonding on the upper teeth. This stage took just 5-6 months of aligner wear.

After 4 weeks of whitening we saw Kasper to do a smile trial where we placed temporary material over his own teeth to show how things could look after the bonding. This allowed Kasper to have a good understanding of the design for the bonding and he had the chance to make any tweaks he would like to ensure the smile was right for him.

Finally, 6 upper front teeth had composite bonding applied to the edges to improve their symmetry and proportions. This is now all being well maintained with retainers at night time to keep the teeth straight and protect the bonding against future wear and tear.

Gillian first came to see Andy due to concerns about her worn front teeth as well as the gaps at the upper right side bothering her. She also had some broken teeth and fillings needing done. Previous experiences at the dentist had left her dentally anxious, particularly at the thought of any pain during treatments.

The Treatment

After a thorough full assessment appointment, they put together a plan to address her main concerns, this covered everything from dental health issues related to gums and fillings required, to the more cosmetic side of things.

Gillian first saw our fantastic dental therapist Amy to take care of her gums as well as sort out broken teeth and old fillings with new cosmetic composite fillings. This was followed by root canal treatments with Nial to resolve infections present and improve old root canal treatments that were not ideal.

At this point, Gillian was now “dentally fit” to go ahead with cosmetic work. This involved improving the bite and aligning the teeth with Andy using Invisalign aligners to provide space for cosmetic bonding on the front teeth. Gillian was an ideal patient with excellent compliance using her aligners, thanks to this we completed the orthodontic work in just 6 months! This was followed by a period of tooth whitening.

To resolve the gaps on the upper right side, Gillian saw our implant dentist Jamie Kerr who placed 2 implants which were then restored with Andy, placing a bridge with 3 teeth on it to fill the gaps and give Gillian back function to enjoy eating properly again.

The smile transformation was finished off with composite bonding on 6 upper front teeth!

Some of my appointments were long due... to the treatment I was getting however they were pain free and went in quickly. For every appointment I was able to pick two items from a comfort menu such as a back massager and eye mask. This helped so much and helped me relax.

I went in and spoke to Elaine who talked through all the available treatments, how each... one works and the different payment options too. I came to dentistry on the square quite guarded. I’d had a number of really bad experiences with my local Falkirk dentist which sadly left me with 2 of my front teeth rotting/ gradually falling out in my early thirties.I didn’t want to wear a denture at my age. So I was looking for something more... permanent. But I’d been told by a number of dentists that implants were not an option for me as my bone density was nil (so there would be nothing for the implant to grab onto).Thankfully I found DOTS - who had a specialist in implants, skilled in something I’d never heard of before - bone grafting. Implants were back ok the table!So, since May 2024 I’ve been receiving treatment from DOTS to replace the 2 failing teeth with implants, and place veneers to another 2 teeth, to balance everything out for a natural smile.Not going to sugar coat it, the bone graft and implant surgery was intense.
